"Each book centers on an everyday event, such as Going Swimming, telling a simple story in a sequence of twelve steps. This pattern, along with clear illustrations and easy to follow print contribute to a format which is both informative and reassuring. The books are primarily designed to be used as a springboard for discussion to help a child cope and prepare for a new situation. However, older children would also enjoy reading the books and they would be a very beneficial EAL resource helping children develop language and build vocabulary.
