"I would like to complement you on your "Off We Go" books. I purchased the first 6 books for Christine as a Christmas present last year. Christine loves going to visit the Hairdresser but would never actually sit still to have her hair cut. So the Hairdresser usually ended up following Christine around the salon to try to cut her hair. A couple of weeks ago Christine needed a hair cut. I decided to open your book entitled "Going to the Hairdresser" and I looked at the book with Christine one page at a time. I then also took the book with us to the Hairdresser. The Hairdresser looked at the book with Christine. For the first time, Christine actually sat on the chair in the salon to have her hair cut - she was very well behaved! In my opinion, in looking at the book with Christine before we visited the Hairdresser and in going through the book with the Hairdresser when we arrived at the salon, we actually prepared Christine for the process of having her hair cut. As a result it was a more pleasant experience for all of us. It just makes life a little easier for a parent of a child with special needs - thank you Avril." |
