Avril has been very busy over the last few weeks as a volunteer for the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games. She is a Special Olympics Town Planner and has been working with a wonderful group of people to help organise the Special Olympics Town. The big day has finally arrived with the opening ceremony on at Thomond Park this evening and the games themselves starting tomorrow, Thursday and continuing on until Sunday. Most of the action takes place at the University of Limerick but there are other venues dotted around Limerick and Clare. Check out www.specialolympics.ie for more details. We wish all the athletes the best of luck and hope the weather stays fine. |
