Help children learn day to day skills

By using the Off We Go! series, you can prepare your child for what is likely to happen when you, for example, go swimming or go to the dentist. By talking through what is likely to happen in advance, your child is less scared and better able to manage.

Sometimes the reason why the child is nervous may be to do with having sensory processing difficulties. In other words their ‘senses’ (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell) don’t coordinate together as they should. As you can imagine, this can make it very scary to go to new places and try out new things. One aspect is that it is harder to understand and follow what is going on in very busy colourful pictures. In the Off We Go! Series, we try to take away any unnecessary clutter but keep enough detail so that we can give the child a sense of that particular place or experience. All the pictures in the Off We Go! series are clear, easy to see and follow, and are particularly aimed at visual learners.
