Provide structure and routine Children respond well to routine and understanding what is happening around them. The Off We Go! series breaks down each event/experience into 12 pictures with words in a sequence. Each book ‘brings’ the child through the task so they know what to expect. Sequencing and short term memory is an area that some children find difficult. I have structured the books in a 12 step sequence to support the child to learn and succeed. Also I did it this way because of advice received from speech and language therapists and I could see that the 12 step sequence works well for Stephen.
